Welcome to the community blog spot. Our mission is to create a sense of fellowship throughout the various subdivisions for the Gordon Road Area!

If you travel Gordon Road in Wilmington NC to or from home, then YOU are the inspiration for our neighborhood community fellowship. It is our objective to engage all who want to participate in any various activities and conversations, towards the goal of maintaining, and improving our neighborhoods.

This is not a "GRIPE" page, nor a platform for advancing specific local or national agenda. It's sole purpose is to create a neighborhood dialogue & fellowship; filled with ideas, success stories, photos, information, and awareness events or issues.

Weekend Reminder

This weekend Gordon Woods Subdivision will expand the Community Sunday A.M. Walk to the coming Monday & Tuesday afternoons!!

Many of you expressed your desire to participate & the route will still begin at the corner of Gordon Woods Road and Winter Moss Ln. Free ice cold botted water will again be provided and the walk will continue (weather permitting).


Let us know about what's going on in YOUR subdivision; such as Yard Sales, or Fundraisers, and we will post it onto our area community events calendar (shown below).

School Is Almost Out ; Stay Alert!

Good Afternoon Neighbors-

Just a reminder to everyone that we are a few days away from the end of the school year here in New Hanover County (last day is 6/10/11).

Please continue to be vigilant in protecting your homes and family from crime. Remember that of the 5 men that were arrested in connection with the 40+ B&E's in our area, 3 were juveniles.

Remember the old saying about idle hands...

Stay Safe.  Stay Vigilant.

Patrol Presence! !

Not only are neighbors throughout our area communicating better with one another, but the NHC Sheriff's Department is still patrolling many of our areas throughout the day and night. Just this morning, an area Lieutenant was spotted on Harris Road, slowly cruising through various subdivisions. Other squad cars have also been present at many times throughout the past few weeks according to area residents. Although our area is NOT typically a bad or high crime area to live in, it is still necessary to be AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDING AREA no matter WHERE you live!!! Also to not live in FEAR!!

As residents of New Hanover County, we appreciate the fast responses we are getting from our men and women in uniform, and know that communication PLUS co-operation is what it takes to keep ANY neighborhood safe!

Thanks Neighbors for being alert! Thanks also for your positive feedback and emails!!

Continue to call the Sheriff's Department on any suspicious or unusual activities you witnesses.... They ARE listening to us and they WILL respond.

Thanks for being such good neighbors !!!!
